Sign up for Fathers' Story Week 2012! FSW is a week-long celebration of fathers and fatherhood that happens at schools, nurseries and other settings across the country in the week leading up to Father’s Day. Taking part is a great way to show everyone in the families you work with, that dads matter - and it gives you the perfect launch-pad for longer term engagement with dads. Don't delay - start planning now! Visit the Fathers’ Story Week website to register for your FSW pack, full of great activities and resources to help your week go with a bang. In previous years thousands of primary schools, nurseries, pre-schools, prisons, libraries and other settings have taken part in Fathers' Story Week. This year we already have messages of support from a host of organisations in the families sector, including the National Day Nurseries Association and National Children’s Bureau, along with well-loved children’s authors including Children's Laureate Julia Donaldson - and famous dads including Olympian and father-of-six Chris Boardman, and Britain's most famous gay dad, Coronation Street actor Charlie Condou. Why take part? There’s a wealth of evidence that children of dads who support their education and are involved in their school, have higher expectations and do better at school – no matter what background the father comes from. So by reaching out to dads through Fathers’ Story Week you can start to make a real difference to children’s lives. Find out more at the Fathers' Story Week website. |
