Schools, nurseries and other family settings across England are getting ready to celebrate Fathers’ Story Week from 9-15 June. Organised by The Fatherhood Institute.
Fathers’ Story Week is a week-long celebration of fathers and father-figures, organised by the Fatherhood Institute to help services reach out to and improve their engagement with dads, via free resources available to download from the FSW website.
This year we’re inviting celebrity dads, including TV presenter Tim Lovejoy and Coronation Street actor Charlie Condou, to read stories in ‘Celebrity Story Time’, a year-round add-on to FSW, giving teachers and other practitioners useful material to download and play to children and their fathers at their ‘Fathers’ Story Time’ events. The first videos will be ready to download via the FSW website during Fathers’ Story Week.
And we’re inviting dads to make ‘selfies’ of themselves telling and reading stories to their children, which we will share on our web-site and social media to help inspire other fathers to get reading with their children. All selfies will be entered into a prize draw to win a signed copy of ‘Dustbin Dad ‘ by children’s author Peter Bently.
